Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Today after your hearty breakfast, head to Queen Elizabeth National Park for your first Uganda Safari leg. The drive from Kampala to the park is approximately 6hrs with interesting stops at the equator monument, Igongo cultural center for a lunch break and then proceeds to the park where you will have the rest of your evening with diner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Embark on Morning Game drive & Afternoon Launch Cruise
Today , wake up to an early morning breakfast and head for game drive along the Kasenyi tracks in search for the elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, kobs, oribis, mangeese, lions and on a lucky day you can spot the leopard and other habitants of this beautiful open savannah park.
After the game drive, return to your lodge for a lunch break and thereafter proceed for an afternoon boat cruise. This cruise rewards with great views of large numbers of hippos, numerous water birds like the kingfisher, pink backed pelicans, the black and white crawls and so many more. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Enjoy a Morning Primate trek In the Kyambura Gorge and Afternoon Nature walk in the Maramagambo forest
Kyambura gorge is a perfect gazzetted area in queen Elizabeth National Park with habituated chimpanzee that can be seen any time of the day. On this day after breakfast, drive to the Kyambura gorge and track the chimpanzees.
Your guides will help you through the forest trail in such for the chimps. After the 2hrs trail, return for an early lunch and get ready to visit the Maramagambo forest, one of the most ancient tropical forests in Uganda and commonly known for its bat cave.
Many visitors enjoy a visit to these caves but you need to be careful not to contract Marburg virus that is spread by these bats. After the adventurous nature walk, return to your lodge for diner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Whole Day Ishasha Sector Tour
Today we have enough time in queen Elizabeth National Park, this park has a lot to offer that is called the medley of wonder. Today after breakfast, you set for the Ishasha sector, this sector is known for the tree climbing lions.
You will have your guide with packed lunch searching for tree climbing lions, you will spot many lying on the fig tree branches while others busy hunting for a meal. Be careful not step out of the car, otherwise you maybe prey. After a long day, return to your lodge for diner and relaxation
Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
On this day get ready to depart for Bwindi impenetrable forest park, with enroute visit to the coffee plantations, cattle farm lands, banana plantations and many others. Have the rest of the evening with diner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Day 6: Gorilla Trekking Experience
Today you get to enjoy a thrilling experience in the impenetrable forest as you trek the mountain gorillas. Make sure you have a heavy breakfast, enough packed water and lunch. After the briefing, trek through the impenetrable forest in search for the large apes, you will be allowed an hour with the gorillas.
After tracking you will be awarded with a certificate to show you did a good job and won the race. Return to the lodge, refresh and visit the batwa communities in the evening. These people entertain their guests with music and dancing and this will make your evening full of life.
Day 7: Transfer to Rwanda
On this day, get ready as you cross from Uganda to Rwanda. Enjoy an early morning breakfast and set off in time, make sure have carried all you travel documents, required to cross through immigration. Upon arrival in Musanze, check into your preferred lodge for overnight stay with diner.
Day 8: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park and Transfer to Gisenyi in the Afternoon
After breakfast, get ready for gorilla tracking experience in volcanoes National Park. This park is of the two parks in Africa that have mountain gorillas. Compared to Bwindi, gorilla tracking here is simpler and somehow with less hassle since this park is not an impenetrable forest. After the tracking, have lunch and proceed to Gisenyi where you will have the rest of your evening with diner and overnight stay.
Day 9: Whole Day in Gisenyi
After having all the 8 days of your trip, traveling here and there, full of primate tracking, you need a day to slow down the itinerary a little bit. Enjoy a day full of sightseeing in Kibuye and an afternoon on the lake shores of kivu.
Enjoy a boat ride on Lake Kivu, a walk on sand beaches and cool drink as you lay on the wooden decks. You just have this day to yourself just relaxing with diner and overnight stay in posh hotels in Gisenyi.
Day 10: Drive to Kigali for a City Tour
Enjoy your breakfast at leisure and drive off for Kigali. This drive is full of interesting scenery since Rwanda is such an amazing country to visit. Make a stop at Nyanza the Kings’ palace; take time to be part of the culture of Rwanda. There after proceed to Kigali city for a city tours and then spend the rest of the evening with diner and overnight stay.
Day 11: Reserved for departure
Today is the last day of the trip and we are glad you had a great time all the way. Today we reserved for departure, depending on your flight time, you can opt for more sightseeing as you wait on your flight.
