Day 1- Transfer to Mabamba Wetland
Birding trips to Mabamba bay start off early morning to catch up with the early raisers. Join your guide on this day after breakfast, and driver west of Lake Victoria. Bird watching in Mabamba is done on canoe and your guide will be helpful along the boat trip. Mabamba swamp has greatly become one of the most visited birding destinations in Uganda and this can be attributed to the fact that it s home to the elusive giant Shoebill stork , the migrant Blue Swallow and the rare papyrus gonolek to add to an incredible list of up to 157 species that call this swamp home .
Other birds in Mabamba wetland include the Mosque swallow, Long crested eagle, Yellow throated geenbul, Common squacco heron, Goliath heron, Pide Kingfisher, African pied wagtail, Grosback weaver, Brown snake eagle, Grey headed sparrow, Spur winged lapwing , Grey wagtail, Black headed gonolek, Yelow billed stork among others.
Trip ends in the afternoon but you can extend your stay and drive to Botanical gardens in Entebbe twon to spot more birds as you relax at the beach.
