These gates are reached through Kampala Pakwach highway which passes through the Nile at Karuma falls bridge and is 260km from Kampala. You can use these gates if you’re coming from Kidepo Valley National Park or northern districts of Kampala.

Southern gates: Murchison Falls National Park can also be reached through the southern gates such as Bugungu and Kichumbanyabo gates. You can access Bugungu from Masindi district 135 kilometers via Budongo forest a natural habitat for chimpanzees also makes you pass the rift valley escarpments which gives you the interesting scenic view of the Albert Mountains in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Kichumbanyabo gate also leads you to Paraa from Masindi town which is 85 kilometers passing through the Kaniyo Pabidi forest.
