Day 1: Transfer to Kidepo valley national park
This day begins with your morning treat, meet your driver guide and Set off to Kidepo valley National Park. On your way, enjoy lunch en-route in Gulu district as viewing magnificent sceneries of some hills that bisect the Karamoja and Acholi land, don’t miss the mighty Manyatta, seasonal rivers and wonderful cultures on your way. Upon arrival late in the evening, check in at your booked lodge, have dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning Game drive in Narus valley and cultural experience
Delight in your delicious breakfast early morning, head out for a morning game drive to explore the entire park searching for eye catching wildlife. Game drive gives you an opportunity to groove on incredible sightings of wonderful landscapes, impressive wildlife which tend to be very active at this time. You spot fascinating animals like occasional cheetahs, zebras, buffaloes, elephants, giraffes as well as various colorful birds. For bird lovers, this park has a site for eye-catching colorful birds that include; Jackson’s hornbill, Abyssinian scimitar bill, chestnut weaver, greater kestrel and unique species like the Somali ostrich.
Move back to the lodge after the unforgettable experience in the afternoon for a relaxation and lunch meal. After, delight in the afternoon nature walk where you go and experience several beautiful landscapes on foot. Day 3: Hiking Morungule mountain
Enjoy your breakfast in the morning and drive to the park headquarters for briefing about hiking. Set off to the starting point then start the hike, this mountain stands on an elevation of 2,750 meters above sea level located in the southern part of the park. Hiking this mountain is very tiresome however, it offers a lifetime lively memory. All process of ascending and descending from the mountain takes about 8 hours depending on your level of physical fitness, reaching the summit if the mountain is everyone’s goal. After all this, head back to your lodge for maximum resting, take a bath and sleep.
Day 4: Community Experience with the IK and Karamojong communities
Enjoy your breakfast in the morning and get ready for today’s experience. Visiting the community on this trip absolutely completes your adventure in Kidepo valley National Park. The community natives (IK people) warmly welcome you with their dances, they take you through their interesting culture where you acquire crafts as well. Head back to your lodge for a relaxation and lunch.
In the afternoon, visit the Karamojong homesteads also known as the manyatta. Get a chance to meet and interact with the citizens to know more about their culture and lifestyle. Feel free to engage in their daily activities such as weaving for the ladies, milking cows, grazing among others. Later in the evening., move back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Departure back to Kampala
On this day, wake up in the morning for breakfast and get your things ready, it is the last day of your awesome trip. Check out of the lodge and start off for Kampala with your lunch en-route inclusive. Upon arriving in the evening, your driver guide drops you at the booked hotel for an overnight stay to catch up with your flight the next day.
