Detailed 4 days Kidepo national park safari
Day 1: Transfer to Kidepo valley national park
On the first day of the safari you will be picked from your hotel in Kampala after an early morning breakfast by the company safari driver and embark on your journey to Kidepo. From Kampala to Kidepo national park it is a drive of approximately 11 hours meaning you will have en-route lunch, you are to get in the park in evening, check into your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Game drive and guided nature walk
On the second day of the safari you will wake up early in the morning for breakfast and drive to the Kidepo plains for a game drive. On the game drive you will be entertained by melodic sweet voices of the birds and beautiful panoramic sights. While in the vehicle, you will spot animals including lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, occasional cheetah and many birds such as golden pipit, fox kestrel, greater kestrel, Jackson’s hornbill, Abyssinian scimitar bill, Abyssinian roller, chestnut weaver and many more. After the game drive you will drive back to your lodge, have lunch and relax. Later on in the afternoon you will go for guided nature walk experience, guided nature walks are headed by a guide and done on foot giving you a great opportunity to explore different landscapes of the national park. Expect to see many animals and birds like buffaloes, zebras and antelopes. After the experience you will return to your lodge and for dinner and the overnight stay.
Day 3: Hike Mountain Morungole and visit the IK people
Your third day takes you for the most adventurous experience of hiking mountain Morugole and visiting the IK minority people. So after having breakfast, you get on the move. Make sure you have enough drinking water in your backpack. Mount Morungole is the highest point Kidepo valley national park standing at the altitude of 2,750 meters and situated in the southern part of the park. The hike to Mountain Morungole is very fascinating and remarkable taking approximately 8 hours of ascending and descending the mountain. As you hike, you get to the neighboring communities and come across Narus and Kidepo rivers which originate from the mountain. On top of the mountain you will meet the amazing IK people living on the small local communities and meeting these people is an opportunity for you to encounter authentic local activities including cattle rearing. You will be entertained by the locals by singing their traditional songs and showcase dance. You will descend after all these activities, meet your safari driver and drive back to your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala
On the fourth and last day of your safari, you will rise up early in the morning for breakfast, checkout of your lodge and embark on your journey back to Kampala. On your way you will have en-route lunch and upon arriving in Kampala you will be dropped off at your hotel or at Entebbe international airport for your flight back home. Your drop off will mark the end of your safari of 4 days to the magnificent Kidepo Valley national park.
